Do you want just a pint of beer? Of course, you can find it in abundance too! Surely, you’ll recall a joke or two when you visit the world’s first beer fountain. It was created in honour of the hop-growing heritage and its bright future.

We think it’s one of the most romantic valleys in the world. And it will never disappoint you. In winter, it’s full of cross-country skiers, ski tourers, and hikers who warm up at one of the tourist farms after their activities. And in person, it’s just as beautiful as in the pictures.

A little romance never hurts. And a lot doesn’t hurt either. In winter, the botanical garden Mozirski gaj transforms from a colourful display of flowers into a Christmas spectacle woven with 1.7 million lights. Each of the gardens shines in its colours, paying homage to the most joyful time of the year.

Enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the oldest squares in Styria and admire authentic houses. The town of Mozirje is first mentioned in 1146. There is a stream flowing through it that, according to the legend, will enchant you if you step into it. Don’t believe it?

In the multimedia museum in Velenje, accompanied by a guide, you will descend into underground tunnels and learn about the work of miners past and present. You’ll peek into a typical miner’s home, have lunch 160 metres below the ground, and ride an underground train. On the way, you’ll be accompanied by the verses of the poet Anton Aškerc, who once wrote: “It’s steamy, and you breathe heavily. The heat is rising… Are we approaching hell?”
